Michael C. Jakob
Founder & Chief Investment Officer
Michael C. Jakob founded Atlas in 2008 and leads its investment process. His work centres on a systematic framework for measuring business quality — the durability of returns on capital, the strength of balance sheets, and the capacity to reinvest at high rates over long periods — and on the disciplined allocation of capital across the firm’s strategies.
He is also the founder of Eulerpool Research Systems, a financial data and analytics platform whose infrastructure underpins the firm’s research. Atlas’s methods have been applied continuously across multiple market cycles since inception.

Method over hierarchy
Decisions at Atlas are governed by written rules and measured evidence. Seniority does not override the data.
Risk owned at the top
The firm's leadership is directly accountable for aggregate risk. Limits are set centrally and enforced independently of the teams taking risk.
Alignment
The firm's principals invest substantially in the strategies they manage, alongside the firm's investors.
Continuity
Atlas is principal-owned, with no external shareholders. Its horizon is measured in decades.
